One thing that has been debated for many years and will continue to be debated for some time is the nature versus nurture debate. What is this debate? This debate centers on what has caused a persons mental condition, in this case anxiety. On the one hand, many people believe that we are born into our mental state (nature), while on the other hand, another group of people feel that we are conditioned by our experiences to have certain mental states (nurture).
So, is anxiety a product of our natural biology, or is it a product of our upbringing and other life experiences? I believe that I have a complex, but very reasonable answer. With each person, anxiety is brought on by different varying events, or even biology.
Ever one has seen how lovingly a humming bird collects nectar from the flower? It never hurt the petals or pains the pollen. Has anyone seen how a sun bird collects nectar from the flower? Has it ever harmed a flower? Can anyone hurt a flower so beautiful? How a beautiful bird can hurt a beautiful flower? Is there a space for hatred in the kingdom of love? Absence of love is only called hatred. Similarly absence of light is only called darkness. Destruction is exactly the opposite of beauty. How beauty can harm beauty, de nature this is the law of nature and on this principle only the entire nature has been created, the entire process of evolution has happened and is happening. Certainly man is an exception.
Will a heart full of love and affection beg the above from others or will be offering it to others? Similarly, why a beautiful bird when it knows that it is the embodiment of boundless beauty, why should it admires and feels proud about it rather than offering the same feelings to others?
In his mad race for power and prosperity with a feeling of shock and horror man is now aware of the fact that the Nature and its resources are vast but limited. He 1as realised that if the present trends are allowed to go unchecked, the future of life on earth will be endangered. Natures plentifulness is a heritage not to be squandered with impunity. It must be conserved. It is high time man does something before the unimaginable stage is reached when rivers will burn, fish will rot on the shores, trees will be their own ghosts and cities will be chocked with polluted and foul smelling air. Lets all make joint ventures to make the Nature as pure as before and try to maintain the immortal relationship of mother and son between de nature and Man.
Man is the only species in the entire universe feel jealous, proud and possessive of beauty. Man is the only species who can admire and get vexed of the same beauty. Man is the only species who attempt to perceive beauty sensually than through his conscience.
Finally, I would also like to note that this argument allows for a persons difficulties with anxiety as an adult to be entirely due to biology. Some of us may have anxiety so strongly wound within our neurochemistry that even with people who are attempting their best to help and are actually doing a good job of it in our lives still may find that we nonetheless end up with intense anxiety. The converse could possibly also be true. Some of us may have no biological predisposition to any anxiety condition whatsoever, but then because of varying life experiences, we may find that we are nonetheless afflicted by an intense anxiety condition.
So, in sum, whatever ones anxiety condition may be, de nature it could be do in part to nature or to nurture, or it could be due entirely to nature, or entirely to nurture. Having an understanding and taking the time to analyze our anxiety condition is not a requirement for one to recover from anxiety, but it can be immensely helpful. The bottom line is that, while anxietys presence in our lives can be due to widely varying circumstances, it can always be treated so that the afflicted individual lives a happy and fulfilling life. No matter how daunting the task may seem, it can and will be accomplished if one continues to work at it.
You are sitting by a quietly flowing stream in the countryside. It is spring and life is green and moist? Sitting on a rock, the sights and sounds of the flowing water begin to work their mysterious way into your nervous system.
We can continue to think that beyond man, no living creature in the world has the ability to value the beauty? If the presumption of man were true, why then the evolution has poured so much of its marvel and wonder in bird kingdom. Was evolution a blind process and was operating so amateurishly until man finds it to be faulty. Man only discovered the blemish of nature where it was creating many species of birds so marvelously, where they neither were able to feel or experience the beauty nor could be proud of.
You may wonder why I am sharing this with you. Is this really part of Personal Development? I think it is. I believe the world would be a better place if each of us had a respect and reverence for Nature. I feel those who respect God’s creations will also respect the grandest of all of God’s creations, Mankind. Thank you.
